Video Games are a quintessential representation of what it takes to succeed in life; with many obstacles, challenges and hurdles (figuratively and actually) they are synonymous with how life is ever-developing and can change in an instant. Personally gaming provided a  way out, a substitute for the problems I faced on a day-to-day basis and a safe-haven where I could not only be myself but work towards achieving a common goal. Victory.

If you are reading this article you most likely are suffering from PTFD (Post Traumatic Fortnite-Depression) and struggle with gaining your significant others attention, as it seems you are in a constant battle with his Party Chat. The truth in the matter is, you may not ever be able to deviate his attention way from his Xbox but that does not mean you should not encourage his unhealthy addiction. However if you are not a female looking to understand why your boyfriend would rather yell at five guys all night, you are probably a male looking to justify the addiction that is slowly but surely consuming your life, ruining your relationship and making you have second thoughts on whether or not you really need to leave your room.

There is nothing more stressful than being dropped at Tilted Tower and if you are one of the gifted who can reach victory after CHOOSING to be dropped there

2.    Fortnite Promotes Teamwork

          Although you may find it funny looking at a grown man wear a headset and yell at his friends who are only there virtually, Fortnite promotes cohesion. Whether is in Duos or Teams, being on the same page as someone who you may or may not like is an effective representation of the challenges we face everyday. The sense of working together towards a common goal and succeeding are moments that should not be taken for granted.

3.    Epic Games Listens to Us

         Many relationships struggle due to a lack of communication – the reason Fortnite has had continued success and proves its not a fad is due to the overwhelming satisfaction players have after complaining about in – game issues. If there’s a bug there is a good chance they have checked Reddit and solved the issue – in a prompt manner.

4.    Its Free

       Growing up I was taught that if you can get something for free, don’t pay for it. Considering Fortnite’s target demographic are money sensitive teenaged males, this is the perfect game for the college student trying his/her best to have fun with friends on a budget.

5.    Anything Can Happen

       Storms, Treasure boxes, Slurp Juice and the complexity of building are all examples of how life can change in a second. You could have someone on the ropes and they build up a wall rendering your attack useless. This level of unexpectedness fuels addiction and can turn mortals into Gods.

The popularity of Fortnite is well documented as a broadcasted tournament had 42Million people view the live stream. Regardless of your opion towards the game, its not going anywhere any time soon so my advice to you, is enjoy, embrace and encourage your significant other. Because a happy husband is a happy life.
